Kansas City emcee and producer Lxnny brings a mix of thought-provoking lyricism over eclectic sounds in his latest EP “Ocean Views”. With the world literally on fire, a pivotal election coming in a few months, a pandemic and more, Lxnny wants to pull listeners away from constantly doomscrolling. “Ocean Views” is a 3 track pack EP produced by Sean Wrekless that whisks listeners to sun-bright beach views and mellowed vibes to present something positive.

Don’t get it twisted though, if you pay attention, Lxnny is drawing attention to some of the news and scandals that have flown under the radar given the times. Tracks like “J.P Morgan” provide a hazy, casino type soundscape where Lxnny talks of a stress-free life but also brings it back to the current world issues. “They target us, while J.P Morgan moves bushels of kilo.” he says. This back and forth continues through the duration of the project.

Co-Starring on the project is North Carolina’s theDeeepEnd. “We have different styles, both great and mesh very well when paired together,” Lxnny says. This is exhibited best on “Air Vs. Magic” (TheDeeepEnd is also on the opening track) where the two put their chemistry on display.

Coming in at three tracks, the short EP is guaranteed to have you clamoring for more, we can only hope we get a full LP version of this next summer when we can all be at the beach.
